We're delivering a boost to the School Clothing Allowance!
From uniforms to sport equipment to books – we know that families are facing rising costs for their school-age kid’s essential items.
Today the Cook Labor Government boosted our targeted assistance for families doing it tough. Those who access our Secondary Assistance Scheme will receive an additional $185 in Term 3 this year and a total of $300 at the start of 2025 for their School Clothing Allowance.
This means a boosted $300 to help pay for secondary student uniforms, and a total $535 a year in support for low-income families.
Tackling cost of living is our number one priority, and this latest initiative builds on our work making up to $250 per student available for all families through our WA Student Assistance Payment.
Families already eligible for the first payment under the Secondary Assistance Scheme are not required to reapply to receive this boost. For more information on the Secondary Assistance Scheme, visit: www.education.wa.edu.au/secondary-assistance-scheme
